More than 600 people from all walks of life, including college students, took part in Chennai’s first ever ‘Blind Walk 15’ on Marina Beach here on Saturday morning. The event, in which the participants walked blindfold, was held to create awareness of eye donation.

More than hundred visually-challenged people led the others for the half-a-km walk. The event was organised as part of the 30th National Eye Donation Fortnight, observed from August 25 to September 8, by The Project Vision (TPV), a Bangalore-based NGO, and 104, a health helpline.

The walk was flagged off by Bart De Groof, Consul-General, Consulate-General of the Kingdom of Belgium, in the presence of P. Aruna Devi, treasurer, Society for Rights of Women with Disabilities, and Assistant Commissioner, Revenue Administration Department, Chennai, and S. Jayaraman, member, TPV.

SAS Partners Corporate Advisors were fortunate enough to partner with The Project vision and thus sponsoring such a great initiative.
