The Southern India Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SICCI) jointly with the MSME Department, Government of Tamil Nadu is on a high power business delegation of 32 members to The Czech Republic led by Thiru T M Anbarasan, Hon’ble Minister for MSMEs, Government of Tamil Nadu. Mr. Arun Roy IAS, Principal Secretary, MSME Department and Ms. Grace Pachau IAS, Addnl Commissioner, Industries Department were part of the delegation in addition to Mr. MV Subramanian, Mr. Gopi Koteeswaran, Senior Board members of the SICCI.
The delegation visited the MSV Expo, the leading Engineering Fair in Europe and interacted with the top Czech businesses and Government officials.
Thiru T M Anbarasan met Mr. Petr Očko Hon’ble Deputy Minister, Government of the Czech Republic and discussed the road map for Tamil Nadu – Czech business partnership. Thiru Anbarasan invited the Czech Government to partner with Tamil Nadu in the focus sectors like Aerospace & Defence, Automotive and EV among others. The engagement also centered on creating a unique Czech MSME cluster in Tamil Nadu.
SICCI suggested for the opening of the Czech Trade office in Chennai with a startup incubator. Further SICCI also called for partnership in training, ICT, Sister cities agreement, food processing, renewable energy among others. It was also requested for the setting up of India Czech Republic CEO Forum.
Thiru T M Anbarasan spoke at the Czech Business Forum at the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade pavilion. He outlined the competitive advantages of Tamil Nadu and welcomed the Czech industry to explore the business and investment opportunities in the state.
Mr. Arun Roy made a presentation on the industrial focus of Tamil Nadu and listed the various partnership opportunities. Mr. Vinod Solomon, Secretary, SICCI spoke on how the Chamber could act as a bridge in facilitating Czech business partnerships and help Tamil Nadu evolve into a $1Trillion economy.
SICCI also signed a MoU with the Confederation of Czech Chambers of Commerce in order to promote bilateral business linkages.
Recognizing that close cooperation between Tamil Nadu & the Czech Republic could significantly assist companies of both countries to further expand their business interactions particularly the Aerospace & Defence industry, Energy Sector, Automotive & EV, Health Sector, Information Technology, Food Processing sector etc SICCI & Confederation of Czech Chamber of Commerce agreed to work together to maximize benefits to their member companies.
Mr. Inbavijayan Veeraraghavan, Board Member, SICCI signed the MoU and assured the Confederation of Czech Chamber of Commerce of full support and assistance for their 11,000 members.
The delegation led by Thiru T.M Anbarasan also visited Evector Aerotechnik, a major manufacturer of light aircrafts. Thiru Anbarasan interacted with Mr. Martin Karnik, CEO, Evector Group and invited him to invest in Tamil Nadu. Mr. Karnik expressed his desire to explore the Indian market and said that the defence corridor in Tamil Nadu was a great advantage. Thiru T.M Anbarasan also visited Liko-s, a leading manufacturer of green building and architectural products.
The delegation called on H.E Mr. Hemant Kotalwar, Ambassador of India to the Czech Republic who promised his complete support in all the endeavours of the state.
